When your program crashes, doesn’t it damage my modem?
It looks to me that when you’re going to change the
software into your modem, nothing may go wrong,
or is it just me? And programming faults, do they damage my modem?
No, when there are some programming foulds, or the programs crashes, nothing will happen to your modem.
After a while you modem will break the connection due a time-out.
We are looking carefully how everything works, so nothing can go wrong.
You modem keep functioning at all costs, also when something strange happens (for example; some settings aren’t good).

I got an error during the start of the program “Component 'MSWINSCK.OCX'
or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid”.
The program uses MSWINSCK.OCX. You can download the file directly from:
www.mirdesign.nl/mswinsck.ocx.
After downloading you need to put the file into the directory:
winNT (2000/xp/NT4/etc.) : SYSTEM32
win98,winME,win95 : SYSTEM

Can I make mappings for more then 1 pc or works this program only for 1 pc in your network?
You can map 1 port to 1 PC.
Note: You can just map 1 port 80 to a pc. You can't map port 80 twice to two pc's. You can
map port 81 to another PC.
-
It seems to be that my modem doesn’t like the program, aren’t they in love? What can I do?
After many tests it seems to be that the firmware sometimes hooks up.
That means that it is responsible for the trouble you got.
Try to update your firmware (Outside our responsibility) and try again.
-
Do I need to disconnect with my ISP (Internet Server Provider) before using the program? And can I keep my data transfers?
No, you don’t need to disconnect with you ISP.
Yes, you can keep your data transfers, keep on downloading! :)
-
I got linux at my server/router. Can I still use the mappings?
Yes, this is no problem. A port is a port, it’s completely OS independent.
Only the program needs to run on a windows machine.
We designed the program under win2k Prof with an admin policy.
It also has been successfully tested on a win98, winME and a winXP machine.
-
Do I have to open a telnet session when I want to use this program?
No, better not! It can confuse Auto port mapping.
-
After I used the program I can’t login anymore.
After I used the program I can’t internet anymore.
This has nothing to do with the program. The cause could be that your modem reacts strangely at the mesh in the NAT tabel.
This effect shall occure also when you make up your NAT table manually.
Turn off your modem (with the power button at the back) and put in on again.
We got this problem a lot because we needed to test during the development.
-
I got 30 port mappings but know the program keeps giving me [FAILED].
We recognise the problem. We just can’t figure it out what it is but try the solution of FAQ #7.
We are still looking for the solution but it is difficult because everyone has another value of mappings.
-
On which computer do I have to run the program?
Every computer who’s connected to your modem using a hub/switch can be used to run this program.
As long you are on the LAN site you can use that computer.
Auto port mapping requires a windows machine.
-
Is my computer ‘open’ to the internet when I set the defserver on 10.0.0.150?
No, your computer is save. It will only send incoming data to that computer.
You can load zwartegat.amc br>
options-->load extern listing-->create.
Note: zwartegat.amc don’t like it when you have an computer on 10.0.0.1. If you have one then change the IP in zwartegat.amc
When you are running an DHCP server; get 10.0.0.1 out of your scope.
zwartegat is dutch for Black Hole :)
-
My ICQ/MSN file transver won’t work.
What you can try is to load the standards.amc. You can change it when you like it.
To use this file look at FAQ #14.
Note: This option will not guaranty your program(s) will work.
